BETA, NEWS – 07.05.2026
We’ve had two intense weeks of beta testing – find out here what you’ve witnessed or missed! Part 4: On plenty of flattery, luck and the future.
Dearest souls, have you ever actually asked yourselves who you really are? No, no, please don’t start having an existential or identity crisis now! Actually, we just want to take a moment here to thank you and draw your attention to a few very special dear souls. But let’s start from the very beginning, so that even those of you who aren’t yet dear souls can understand why you aren’t dear souls.
To that end, we shall modestly quote ourselves:
“Dive into the world of Silberheim and explore a vast, high-scale fantasy universe. Your journey begins in the unfathomable Chamber of Souls. Armed only with vague memories of past lives, you have one goal: life. But to earn your right for rebirth on Midoa, you must prove yourself. Win despite defeat. Don’t just overcome challenges – master them.” You’ll find this and many more strings of words on the Silberheim ECG Steam page. In short, here’s what it’s all about: as a disembodied soul, you fight for rebirth. To do so, you collect fragments of memory – that’s the authentic lore term for our playing cards. So, dear beta testers, you are dear souls – no matter what your parents told you! But what if you, of all people, aren’t a dear soul just yet because you haven’t had a look at the beta? There’s still hope! We’ll get to that at the end of the post. Yes, you can just scroll down now and ignore my pointless ramblings. You’re welcome to do so.
There are plenty of wonderful souls out there. We’ve already talked about this in the second part of the beta test review. We’re, of course, incredibly grateful to all of you. You’ve devoted a large (and in some cases, alarmingly large) portion of your free time to playing Silberheim ECG. We realise how gruelling that was for you. In the last part, we already shared a few of our and your Discord highlights with you. Now we’d like to dedicate some time to a few more standout moments – in video form. First and foremost, we mustn’t forget or overlook the leaders of the factions. Many thanks to:
A particular highlight for us was the “brawl” that took place on 2 April between the Streamstriders and the Skuhuks. Hauke from the Skuhuks faced off against Shattner and Scrawl from the Streamstriders, live and in colour. You can follow how this battle unfolded here on Hauke’s channel.
In addition, a great many dear souls have voluntarily dedicated their time to creating videos about Silberheim. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to: PixelPirateMarvin, Drachenauge4_0, dalootcifer, the_arlu, Forodo, flooh_TV, TV_JayArr, the Spielekapitän and KaiKniezeps. Please let us know if this list is incomplete! One of these dear souls not only filmed and edited, but also drew! It is with great pride and even greater joy that, thanks to the help of our dear Spielekapitän aka André, we can present the new Glimmerwolf token:
By the way, André has named the she-wolf “Fenra”.
Finally, we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our Helping Hands. Eight very kind individuals have voluntarily decided to actively support us in managing our Discord server. Whether offering helpful advice or engaging in friendly conversation, they have been fully involved and were on hand to assist you in every situation. We are very, very grateful to you! In future, the Helping Hands team will also be growing a little. So please be kind if you come across familiar names in new roles. Aside from Marc’s much-appreciated and, in fact, not yet entirely devoured food parcel (including printed Silberheim fragments), we’d also like to thank Ronnie, who has graced our office with a beautiful Silberheim trophy! And if you’re up for even more Silberheim content, do pop over to our YouTube channel. Unfortunately, you’ll have to put up with our faces for a bit, but a short recap trailer is coming soon. But enough of the self-promotion now.
We’ve already shared the results of the Battle of Isdraia with you in the previous instalment. Now it’s time to honour not the faction as a whole, but the individual players who have fought their way to the top of the leaderboard. We also promised to return to the prize draws! During the actively supervised beta test – by which we mean the period up to 10 April – three particularly hard-working souls fought their way to the top, and we would now like to honour them. We congratulate Diaflo of the Skuhuks (with 3,079 Flux collected), Jersch of the Skuhuks (with 1,636 Flux collected) and Jeremy of the Warrior Elite (with a total of 1,503 Flux collected).
A round of applause for our top 3 from the official beta testing period!
In the meantime, our dear soul Diaflo has already received his first, well-deserved thank you. We’ve been told that one of his favourite cards is Glenmor of the Gate. And as luck would have it, it was none other than our dear Fiona who created the artwork for it. Naturally, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to put the illustration to good use.
Diaflo's Glenmor is a variation on Fiona's fragment ‘Glenmor of the Gate’
However, even after the official end of the beta test, our dear souls continue to play diligently. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the three players who have accumulated the most Flux since 10 April – excluding the three mentioned above (and up to 4 May): Shadrar of the Warrior Elite (with 3,042 Flux collected), Leiftime72 of the Warrior Elite (with 2,231 Flux collected) and Kaiser_CY of the Skuhuks (with 2,138 Flux collected). Many thanks to you and everyone else for continuing to support Silberheim ECG.
The top 3 after the official end of the beta (excluding Diaflo – otherwise he would be 2nd)
It was also a special honour for us to be able to make a total of twenty of you happy with two prize draws! The first prize draw took place among the winning faction, the Skuhuks. To do this, our dear soul Hauke spun the wheel live on stream – the Wheel of Fortune, to be precise. You can watch the stream, which also featured Sunny and Karl, here. We’ve already sent an email to everyone who was lucky in the draw, and in some cases the €100 Steam voucher too! What’s more, our draw host Hauke has decided to throw in another voucher on top. We think that’s absolutely fantastic and would like to thank Hauke warmly.
The second prize draw took place amongst all the dear souls who weren’t so lucky this time round. This time, our two Streamstriders, Shattner and Scrawl, volunteered to spin the wheel with us.
We congratulate all the lucky winners! You’ve truly earned it.
Anyone who works at Beyond Worlds can learn something new every day. So it never gets boring! Sometimes you learn how to smear soap on door handles, sometimes you come across strange new words. Nobody can tell me that a reasonably normal person uses the word ‘Bauchpinseln’ (belly-brushing, an odd term for flattery) in everyday speech. Then again, ‘reasonably normal’ is hard to come by around here.
And so, here we are, belly-brushing after all. Though very seriously and without irony, coupled with a great deal of gratitude. This gratitude is due to all of you and every single dear soul in Silberheim.
Thank you for giving us a chance and placing your trust in us. Thank you for giving us honest and constructive feedback. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for actively helping us to improve. Thank you for always being willing to turn a blind eye – or even both. Thank you for having so much patience with us. Thank you for always being kind to one another. Or at least most of the time. Thank you for supporting us. Thank you for going above and beyond our expectations. Thank you for not chasing us out of the country with torches and pitchforks.
Thank you – and this is a very personal thank you – for reading my text. This one, and others too. It means far more to me than you might think.
Thank you for being here, and thank you for making this beta test possible. You’re brilliant, and we hope you know that.
Ah, there you are! You’ve ended up here either because you’ve read through everything with the patience of a saint – everything I absolutely had to cram into that Word document in such detail – I can already picture the exasperated eye-rolls from all the Word haters. Or you’re here because you want to know as soon as possible how you can still test the beta version of Silberheim ECG. For those of you who can’t wait to play: Here is the link to the registration page. For the time being, it will still be possible to test the beta for free. That wasn’t the original plan, and it was initially only extended until the end of April, but let’s be honest: why should we take this opportunity away from you? You might – or at least hopefully – have fun with it, and we’ll continue to benefit from your bug reports and feedback.
A good deal – or not?
I’m sure you’re also wondering what the long-term future holds. So I’m going to share a few more thoughts with you – for the last time, at least for today. Immediately after the supervised beta test ended on 10 April, we started by tidying everything up. We systematically collected your feedback and organised it in a way that made sense to us. At the same time, however, we also asked ourselves internally what we as a team could do better in future. That’s by no means as trivial as it might sound. Because the beta test wasn’t just a test for Silberheim ECG, but also for us as a team. Now that the last bits of rubble and shards have been cleared away, we’ve decided to do something very special this May: nothing. After the extremely demanding period of the last few weeks, the time has now come for us, as individuals, to take a breather so that we can tackle the final stretch of the journey with renewed strength. Of course, we’re not putting our work on hold entirely. Nevertheless, things will be a bit quieter in May. So don’t be surprised if, now and then, things can’t be dealt with as promptly as our standards would normally require. It’s not down to you, it’s down to us. But as soon as our energy reserves are fully recharged, we’ll really get back into the swing of things. And with what? Well, we’re hurtling towards the Steam release at an alarming pace. Admittedly, that’s causing us a bit of concern. Because our plans are big. Since we’re concerned, we’ll start by outlining what you can probably expect: the demo as a second beta test, a Kickstarter campaign and a Steam release. And so ends the Silberheim ECG beta test review. It’s now half the length of a final thesis, and yet we can’t shake the feeling that we’ve still fallen far short of doing justice to the whole story.
The end. See you in Silberheim.
