What Exactly Is Silberheim?

Silberheim is more than the ECG – but what does that actually mean? Read on.

Silberheim, Isdraia, Silberheim Evolving Card Game, and then suddenly Beyond Worlds – anyone engaging with our work quickly encounters a whole range of names and terms. In this article, we’d like to sort out and explain this apparent chaos surrounding Silberheim and co. Grab a glass of Penjajuice and get ready, because today we’re answering the question: What exactly is Silberheim?

Silberheim Simply Explained: What We Mean by It

If we want to get to the heart of what Silberheim means, we first need to distinguish between two perspectives. The first is looking at Silberheim from our point of view as the company Beyond Worlds. The second is from a lore perspective. So let’s start with Silberheim as a project of Beyond Worlds.

What Kind of Project Is Silberheim?

Silberheim is the name we chose for our fantasy and product universe – right? Yes! But…

First, we need to mention our rebranding. Originally, Beyond Worlds did not begin working on the project Silberheim, but on a project called Dystopia. In 2024, however, the project was renamed. The universe we had developed remained the same; only the name changed. The rebranding had several reasons, which we have already explained in a separate website article.

By now, (almost) everything has become Silberheim. And this is where it gets a little more complicated. The main question is: what exactly does “everything” include? At the moment, Silberheim appears most prominently through our Silberheim Evolving Card Game. A large part of our work currently revolves around it, as do the things we publish. For example, the beta test for Silberheim ECG is coming up soon.

However, for us, Silberheim is not just a trading card game. For us, Silberheim is the name of a much broader project. Under Silberheim, we bundle everything connected to our fantasy universe. Silberheim Evolving Card Game is one part of it, but far from the only one. Silberheim is the overarching framework of the game. The same applies to our novel Daemonion, which forms the first volume of the trilogy The Silberheim Memories. Under the name Silberheim, many more products are planned for the future, including a follow-up game to our TCG/ECG. The large bracket holding Silberheim together will be the account system. In the long term, we aim to create a kind of hub that brings together the entire Silberheim experience. So when we speak of Silberheim, we mean something bigger and more comprehensive than merely a conglomerate of unrelated products. Everything stands under the vision of Silberheim and takes place within the fantasy universe of Silberheim.

Silberheim Evolving Card Game

The idea behind Silberheim was never simply or immediately to develop a trading card game. Rather, our founders Felix, Karl, and Manu, together with other loyal companions, always had the bigger vision in mind. That the first major module would become a TCG was not set in stone from the beginning. The decision to create an Evolving Card Game was made for various reasons – some pragmatic, others driven by personal passion.

We have already written several articles about the development of Silberheim ECG, its (relatively) current state, and what we actually mean by an “Evolving Card Game".

Around autumn this year, Silberheim ECG is scheduled to be released on Steam. You can already wishlist Silberheim now. We would greatly appreciate your support! :) Silberheim ECG will also soon be playable for free in a beta test. News about this will primarily be shared via our Discord server.

Silberheim to Read: Daemonion and The Silberheim Memories

Silberheim is a fantasy cosmos – its own world in which our lore is set and where all stories surrounding Silberheim take place. The current setting is the land of Isdraia, which is also home to Silberheim ECG. Since a fantasy cosmos requires extensive worldbuilding, it is inevitably necessary to put many things into writing. It is therefore only natural that the lore has already been shaped into a novel and numerous spin-offs. At the moment, we aim to have the novel Daemonion republished. Most recently, we handled publication in-house. However, we see great potential in collaborating with an external publishing house so that we can focus less on book printing and more on worldbuilding and game development.

As soon as you can once again hold Daemonion in your hands as a physical copy, we will of course let you know. Until then, we kindly ask for your patience with the e-book version.

Silberheim from a Lore Perspective: Its Meaning in Isdraia and on Midoa

Now let’s step away from the grand vision and, instead of looking at Silberheim from the outside, dive directly into the world itself. Because even within our fantasy world, Silberheim has a meaning.

Currently, the story of Silberheim takes place in the land of Isdraia. There are various peoples and characters living there. Some exist in this world without thinking much about the circumstances they find themselves in. Others are driven by a longing to explore and understand. And then there is a small group of figures who possess secret knowledge. The story unfolds in the land of Isdraia and on the planet Midoa. But for some inhabitants, the world is not called that – instead, they call it Silberheim. And of course, there is a specific reason for that. You might even figure it out yourself by asking: what, in Silberheim or Isdraia, is actually silver? We won’t give you a more obvious hint than that!

What Is Silberheim Not Yet?

The Silberheim cosmos offers room for an incredible amount of things that could still come to life. We certainly have no shortage of ideas and are bursting with drive and ambition. But everything in its time. We’ve already given you a small preview with the account system and the follow-up game. Aside from that, we can also reveal that… Oh no – someone’s calling me. We’ll have to continue this another time!
