Another year at Beyond Worlds has flown by so quickly, and we're looking back together with you at everything that's happened.
A year ago, the world in our office spaces looked completely different. And since there's so much to report, we don't want to beat around the bush—we'll just dive right in. So grab a Penja juice and reminisce with us in (Silberheim) memories. You can also drink water.
Last year's annual review started with the team: While at the beginning of 2024, only a team of four people was working on Silberheim, by the turn of the year it had already grown to nine. In the meantime, we've even become more—insane!
In contrast to last year, however, we have to break a promise: We're no longer nine whole people, but thirteen and a half, and we're probably doing half things after all. "How's that?" you're rightly wondering. No, we didn't cut off Felix's legs to keep him from driving the excavator and chain him to his chair for all eternity. At least not yet. Instead, we've had an intern since September—Steffen!—who unfortunately has to leave us in a few weeks to finish his studies. So we're counting Steffen as half a new employee for now (though we like him at least as much as a whole one). We'll miss him terribly. May he study in peace.
Of course, we've also added whole new team members. A total of three new faces have joined me in the marketing office—I'm finally not alone anymore, and it's great! Admittedly, it's also much more fun to brainstorm together on "content" ideas to torment the team with next. But don't worry, dear team, next year it certainly won't get much worse than pitchfork and morning star.
Apart from that, IT has also gained a new member—from a certain "Max Weber." As a sociologist, I naturally first wondered who dug him up and, to be sure, demanded a definition of strategic interdependence. "Ehm," explains Max Weber, "I know the first one and a half words, but what is dependency?" Well, that's settled.
So Beyond Worlds had half a Steffen. And he was so good, it was as if he were a whole one.
One of the biggest milestones this year was certainly achieved around Silberheim Evolving Card Game: Our closed alpha test phase took place in the summer. We've already looked back on it in two separate posts and fondly remember uncreative usernames, won bot games, promo cards, music, lost PvP games, game statistics, investigative research on goblin boxes, the Fenn for all cases, broodmother jokes, and so much more that we'd rather stop here than drown in this nostalgia.
That said, it's also worth looking forward again. Because 2026 will be one of the most decisive Silberheim years ever. In the first half of the year, the beta test phase follows—and maybe something else, where we might need your help too. Because for all of this to work, we need a whole lot of support. If it fits, feel free to spread the good news and "motivate" a few people to play Silberheim. Wink. We'd be infinitely grateful.
In the second half of 2026, something even more exciting happens. Silberheim ECG is released. For real. It still feels a bit surreal to us sometimes. When the Silberheim ECG Steam page went public, it felt like a very fruitful, internal harvest festival.
Have you added the game to your wishlist already?
Last year, we already announced what then finally happened: The Beyond Worlds team has moved! Nevertheless, we've stayed in Landstuhl and experienced a whole lot of exciting regional events.
It all started with Rhineland-Palatinate Day in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. The Media Funding Agency of Rhineland-Palatinate had set up a booth, giving us the chance to show off our work and the game on the event Friday. Silberheim ECG could already be explored here before the official alpha test start. We were very happy to be able to participate!
In September, we were at the city festival in Landstuhl. There's also a retrospective post on that. As part of our donation campaign for Stubentiger-in-Not e.V., the Beyond Worlds team then also visited the cat village in Trippstadt. Another highlight at the city festival was the handover of the reconstructed Nanstein Castle as a canvas. On that, we promised you more info—and it will follow. We're currently still waiting on a few things though.
On December 12, our Christmas party took place. This year, it turned out a bit smaller and less alcoholic than usual—which doesn't have to be a bad thing at all.
Landstuhl City Festival, cats and more!
2026 is bringing us all closer to exciting times. Admittedly, we're looking forward to the next year, but we're also gazing ahead with a great deal of respect. The next year might not decide everything, but more than enough. And so we want to give you the promise that we'll continue to do our very best to make 2026 a super Silberheim year—very gladly together with you! We thank you for your support so far and fear that in the new year we'll be bothering you even more than before.
Have some pleasant days, hang in there, we'll be in touch!
