When we began writing the lore for our project at the end of 2018, times were different. The real world was less dystopian. There were no pandemics, no wars, and no economic downturn. Back then, the term "dystopia" was at most known from old science fiction novels. "Dystopia" sounded cool and suited us well as the name for the fantasy world. The idea was that our future customers would save the world "Dystopia" by playing our games, transforming it from a dystopia into a utopia over the years.

When we then considered registering the trademark "Dystopia" at the beginning of 2024, everything was put to the test again. It turned out that the term had already been used in a similar context by another company, and that registering it as a trademark would not be easy. Moreover, we found the term too negatively connoted and overused in books, movies, and games. We were thus faced with the challenge of replacing "Dystopia" with a new term that would have a more positive impact, for which the .com domain was still available, and that could be registered as a trademark without difficulty.

As you can imagine, this was not easy! We spent several weeks gathering ideas, discussed them in many meetings, and then evaluated the favorites against various external factors. The final choice was: "Silberheim"!

The term "Silberheim" represents the entire fantasy cosmos, not just the planet where the stories take place, but also the otherworldly "god worlds" and everything else connected to the planet. By the way, the planet itself is now called "Midoa". We hope the name "Silberheim" evokes a positive association that invites our players into the fantasy cosmos. Those who are already somewhat familiar with our lore and have an idea of what the silver or silvery stuff is about will suspect that there is more behind the term. Including some danger!

We hope you like the new name! In a few months, there will also be an extensive rebranding with a new logo and adjusted design.
